  In the article “The Problem with How We Treat Bipolar Disorder,” published in The New York Times , Linda Logan shares her personal experience as a patient diagnosed with bipolar disorder and raises concerns about contemporary treatment approaches. At the onset of her struggle with depression, Logan was 27 years old, a wife and mother of three young children. She felt increasingly lost in her identity, reverting to the insecurities of her high school years, where she hid under a hood and withdrew from others to conceal her depression.
